Become one of 100 founding families.

We're raising $10,000 by December 31 to launch our first programs. Gifts to Ubuntu Village, a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-4285210), are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Give securely

Every gift counts, and so does every name.

When foundations see a hundred neighbors backing us, doors open for everything that comes next. Give once or monthly, at any amount.

Donations are processed securely by Givebutter. You will receive an emailed receipt for your records.

How your gift is used

Gifts made in our founding year support the work of getting our first programs off the ground. That includes:

  • Program design with our first school and community partners, including curriculum, rites of passage designs, and arts projects.
  • Training for the educators, mentors, and elders who lead programs in their communities.
  • Materials for young people's projects, such as art and media supplies and garden tools.
  • The basics every new nonprofit needs to operate well and stay accountable: insurance, filings, and secure systems for donations and records.

Unless you tell us otherwise, gifts are unrestricted, which lets us direct them where they are needed most in this first year. If you would like your gift to support a particular program area, mention it in your donation note.

Other ways to give

  • By check. Make checks payable to "Ubuntu Village" and mail them to 3255 Blandon Road, Oakland, CA 94605.
  • From a donor-advised fund. Recommend a grant to Ubuntu Village using our EIN, 42-4285210.
  • Through your employer. Many employers match charitable gifts. Ask your human resources team whether yours does.
